Personality Disorders, Trauma and Risk Factors

Learning Goal: I’m working on a criminal justice multi-part question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

Trauma is proposed to be key in understanding the development and persistence of conduct disorder in juveniles in conjunction with other contributing factors. Please discuss the following:

1) Define and discuss trauma and its potential effects on juveniles. Give at least 2 examples of trauma on youth.

2) Define and discuss conduct disorders, specifying specific behaviors (a minimum of 4 behaviors) that can be displayed by youth.

3) Identify risk and protective factors (Chapter 3) and their relevance to juvenile behavior.

4) Discuss the best methods of identifying and treating juveniles who display some of these characteristics. What techniques have been successful? What techniques have not been successful?
