Assignment 1: Think about the main characters in “Cathedral” and “Everyday Use.” Choose one character from each story and compare and contrast how those characters did or did not change. Please use specific examples from each text to support your answer.

 choose one of the stories from this week, “Winky,” “Sexy,” or “Drown,” and make an argument about something in one of the stories. This argument should be in the form of a thesis statement. This should be your opinion about something in one of the stories and the meaning behind it–IT SHOULD NOT BE SUMMARY. After you have made your argument (one or two sentences), briefly support your argument with specific examples from the story.
