In this assignment, you are writing an offer of professional employment to a prospective employee. Interviews have been completed, and the company has decided to extend an offer to prospective employee, who may or may not be required to sign an employment contract. However, this assignment is to write the offer letter and not the contract.

Based on the principles of contract and employment law you’ve learned in class, this letter

must include, at a minimum, the following:

• The terms & scope of employment; must pass legal muster of an OFFER

• Covenant not to compete; must pass legal muster

• Description of “at-will” work written into the letter; tailor it to whether you offer a

contract or not

• Otherwise, you are free to get creative

Assume you are the employer. You have wide discretion to use any industry or corporation of

your choosing, however, you should strongly consider what types of businesses and

employment might utilize an employment offer like the one you are asked to draft.

Write a properly formatted, one page, properly spaced and formatted employment offer

of maximum two pages.
